I entered the sometimes annual cake competition at icing inspirations! The theme this year was Tim Burton, so I just had to do the nightmare before Christmas! My daughter and I sat down and re-watched the movie to draw inspiration for the design, and after many different sketch ideas I came up with the following design!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This year my son is all about Batman!! I have to say that I did have a little bit of fun while creating this Batman event! So many different ideas came to me this time, but I was limited to what I was able to do because my son wanted his party to be at a trampoline park!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First up were the goodie bags! I just love creating goodie bags for the kids parties, but what to do for Batman? The only thing I kept coming back to were utility belts!!! How much fun would that be? And what would a superhero with a utility belt be without his/her cape and mask?! And so it begins!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM-WNytf2wY2f8ZA-BjAEPDtB-_05SY0dESrUkxiG2vRAi3ifKxDEXR_kTqFQYyhBcrK5SQpWRM1LwyEGX-OPgNnWDxHEudaZoJd7HXwTXzlGMSIKgWVRODyEOi3ArQB7McUe_KeykM-lG/s1600/DSC_0002%25286%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM-WNytf2wY2f8ZA-BjAEPDtB-_05SY0dESrUkxiG2vRAi3ifKxDEXR_kTqFQYyhBcrK5SQpWRM1LwyEGX-OPgNnWDxHEudaZoJd7HXwTXzlGMSIKgWVRODyEOi3ArQB7McUe_KeykM-lG/s400/DSC_0002%25286%2529.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I chose to make the belts out of felt because it was a little cheaper and easier to work with - that being said, the felt balls up the more it is used and it can also loose its shape..... overall though, the belts have held together really well! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made the pockets to fit the treats I had planned to put inside them - a large personalized batman cookie, some treats (that may or may not have come from my kids Halloween stash!!) and a flash light for our superhero's to use to help them fight crime in the dark!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also created these little jelly bean treat bags to go with the belts, capes and masks!</div>

And little mans birthday cake! I had seen a cake done up as a chibi superhero, and while I would have loved to have made the entire cake as a Chibi - I just didn't know how to do that (I have since bought the tutorial, and let me just say that it is totally worth it!! I now have a whole new perspective on how to structure my cakes! Thank you Avalon!)</div>

Embellishments can be added anywhere! Even in something as simple as a water bottle! Add a marker to the table and party guests can add their names to their water! Keeps the wasted water bottles to a minimum (don't get me wrong - there will ALWAYS be people who open a water bottle and then forget where they put it, but this does help a little!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My daughter told me this was her best birthday party ever! We combined her birthday party with another friends party and had one big bash! The girls had so much fun.... both of us mom's were run ragged, but apparently we looked like we were holding it together pretty good!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Queen Elsa joined our party, she sang songs, played games and had the little ladies mesmerized! </div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I went a little more simplistic with my invites this time - but everyone still seemed to love them! I printed these images out and glued them to blue cardstock :D </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First things first - we had to get things ready for the party!! I love pinterest of course so I was on there all the time looking for different ideas! I found a lady on etsy that makes these super cute tulle wands! I found it too late and had no time to order them - so I made them myself!! I took a Styrofoam ball, snowflake charms, a wooden dowel, tulling and a glue gun and started to put it together!</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I glued the ball to the end of the dowel and painted it blue. Then I tied the snowflake charms to the ends of my ribbons and glued those onto the bottoms of the Styrofoam balls. I bought tulle from Micheals - it comes in rolls and I just cut it into little strips, twisted them in half and used the glue gun to start filling in the ball!! It was actually a lot easier to do then I thought it would be and the girls were so happy with them! The crowns I found at the dollar store :)</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLkLPsK_3RNHdiy_omfQT14Pq_r7uUK9vxLWPr_B3FDoXHkdPavFsfalbRkIm1k8WuYV9F93Y715lyYplSIus9v68v025dX5K811BGOIZCXZA2ifxjx35CNh_ahRSj8I6-preZl4zxLA2O/s1600/DSC_0004(6).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLkLPsK_3RNHdiy_omfQT14Pq_r7uUK9vxLWPr_B3FDoXHkdPavFsfalbRkIm1k8WuYV9F93Y715lyYplSIus9v68v025dX5K811BGOIZCXZA2ifxjx35CNh_ahRSj8I6-preZl4zxLA2O/s1600/DSC_0004(6).jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then there was coming up with ideas for the kids to do during the party! A big hit at all of my parties is decorating your own cupcake! The kids love doing this! I made the cupcake boxes from Bristol board using a cube template I found on google. Made individual inserts to hold the cupcakes and added a pretty snowflake with everyone's names on it! Then at the party I gave the kids bowls of icing, sprinkles (I found a multi pack of assorted sprinkles at the dollar store) some markers and stickers to decorate and they were off! Usually I do this at my house and the clean up is really not that bad - this party was at a hall (with 40 kids, cough, cough) so the mess was not fun, but usually it works well with the kiddies!</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
What would a frozen party be without a snowball fight!?!! I still had a ton of white yarn leftover from the monster high wig I made my daughter, so it got me to thinking about these snowball puffs my mom used to make!! They are SO EASY to make! Apparently you can buy a tool to make them at Micheals, but I did it the cheapy way ;) lol!</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-Rz3fmuL-pKo6QUxLd67ERxGp6tuopmcw9JRNj3IiWdp5jLKM78jI131I-AU2Al1LUF1k_RWodP-iEME1cyhWT5E4asVAVMC8Fm_K89kqwkR-jiXdjquVX2INyz5e3EeKfm_aDHlHLhse/s1600/DSC_0011(6).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-Rz3fmuL-pKo6QUxLd67ERxGp6tuopmcw9JRNj3IiWdp5jLKM78jI131I-AU2Al1LUF1k_RWodP-iEME1cyhWT5E4asVAVMC8Fm_K89kqwkR-jiXdjquVX2INyz5e3EeKfm_aDHlHLhse/s1600/DSC_0011(6).jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First I cut two circles out of a box. Cut a circle out of the center and cut a straight line from the outside to the inside of the circle. Templates done. Maybe just a little cheaper then buying a tool from Micheals?! lol! But to each their own ;)</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheL81B8ng9hLvBRvRmVfiAXwb43BPvAKW0dHoJesGrE-VUpAFwoZMrfy8bNcN1P_q3qjkAuYRQmNYIt9U8qjfYgoIt-FtTsCCKerTYV11XqvgB3aZKiDd3K72c9p790f0NsiLEhVBxmOmt/s1600/P1140037.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheL81B8ng9hLvBRvRmVfiAXwb43BPvAKW0dHoJesGrE-VUpAFwoZMrfy8bNcN1P_q3qjkAuYRQmNYIt9U8qjfYgoIt-FtTsCCKerTYV11XqvgB3aZKiDd3K72c9p790f0NsiLEhVBxmOmt/s1600/P1140037.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then you just start wrapping the yarn around the template - I found the snowballs looked a lot better when I did the yarn really tight - made them fuller, but it is up to you ;)</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6Hs85um9344eecOY4zTXq2vmHUFLwo0OiI4h61JaR2iR4ppWDh1ICXUB_2E5JXMcIS40jiTilyFwO0kNyevBNLA5bdq660srlEF6ne101qDnswDce78nRFnReeESBzAVbfxsGyW7nBkEl/s1600/P1140042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6Hs85um9344eecOY4zTXq2vmHUFLwo0OiI4h61JaR2iR4ppWDh1ICXUB_2E5JXMcIS40jiTilyFwO0kNyevBNLA5bdq660srlEF6ne101qDnswDce78nRFnReeESBzAVbfxsGyW7nBkEl/s1600/P1140042.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Keep going until your template is as full as you like (again the more yarn, the tighter you go - the fluffier your snowball)</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3tzTopWpkjFXQPYVSXyGdWa2n9nW1JCcZJ0B3vcK8btTARXbw7jYY-o85wyGXeaptk7bLusXesODH0f1zt7N2brKmX9ZAz-c5mpJj8KxUWv69ZGx2KmOj7kqrJOi8kTtsEsXgIkLq0dUl/s1600/P1140038.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3tzTopWpkjFXQPYVSXyGdWa2n9nW1JCcZJ0B3vcK8btTARXbw7jYY-o85wyGXeaptk7bLusXesODH0f1zt7N2brKmX9ZAz-c5mpJj8KxUWv69ZGx2KmOj7kqrJOi8kTtsEsXgIkLq0dUl/s1600/P1140038.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now you find the opening you had originally made and stick your scissors in between the two templates.... and cut! Go slowly otherwise it can get hard to hold the yarn together - you do not want it to all fall out just yet ;)</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqr1KGJhmHcSamoc4OjgAvtkBOkUwjpYbASp-Bc-7ENkTCw3TtaVuoWKDXgcJQpZ8ZdE9tu5G7pBDoGK3YGm2Ui_zkBJ74w_9uHVOs5cv2fZUcFehGMd_SEV6-dcNe6_j7ehLk2-71z22x/s1600/P1140040.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqr1KGJhmHcSamoc4OjgAvtkBOkUwjpYbASp-Bc-7ENkTCw3TtaVuoWKDXgcJQpZ8ZdE9tu5G7pBDoGK3YGm2Ui_zkBJ74w_9uHVOs5cv2fZUcFehGMd_SEV6-dcNe6_j7ehLk2-71z22x/s1600/P1140040.JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cut another strip of yarn and wedge it in between the templates. Tie a knot and remove the cardboard! Simple! The more you do the faster you will get and you will be surprised at how many snowballs you will have! I know you can get a giant roll of yarn from walmart for $9, or you can also find yarn at the dollar tree!</div>
<br />

<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you Want to build a snowman? I love these kits and we used them in the kids goody bags! They were a hit with so many of the kids! The bags were bought at the dollar tree and the tags I made myself! I found a cute image on Google and used Microsoft Word to size and print them! I printed them on cardstock and then cut them to fit the baggies! I think you can also find cute cardboard tops on etsy but I tend to just make it all myself ;)</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Inside I put large and small marshmallows, pretzels, jelly beans, chocolate chips and lolly pop sticks to hold it all together!</div>

<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did the same thing for these Olaf treats! "My name is Olaf and I like warm hugs" <3 Who doesn't love this snowman!!? The goodies were just a bunch of bulk candies sorted into baggies! </div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Came together nicely right?! So simple, such a hit!</div>

Then of course the kids needed something to put the goodies inside of! For the boys we went with these blue bags (dollar store) and printed out an image of olaf onto cardstock. I made him the size of the 8 1/2x11 paper - so I used the extra along the bottom to create a snowy base, and then I used a hole punch to make the falling snow! The name tags were made out of left over craft foam </div>

The girls bags we went with a different idea ;) We actually made these little bags... we did try to buy little bags, but didn't have any luck finding what we were looking for :( So these took longer then we had planned, but they came together so nicely! </div>

These photo stands were also a huge hit! I took the project boards you can buy at Micheals and created these characters for the kids! I did this with the Monster High party as well but I used foam core.... the project board held up better - but I found it to be a little short. In the end the kids had a fantastic time pretending to be Elsa,</div>

Time to change up my little girls room! A little monster high action for this room! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaq29kXovO6_nYVVzr9XNsWquOvdnZokSUrAiAU3oHANHuTwi-S4fyp6_RNQqaWQFDqZWRliwHH84NA-lJ7h7dWiQioQyosTvBvlZ6FxYw7dowZtktuIRoGTvJoJhf1BuEVDKJqD7w8OXL/s1600/DSC_0016(1)_0001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaq29kXovO6_nYVVzr9XNsWquOvdnZokSUrAiAU3oHANHuTwi-S4fyp6_RNQqaWQFDqZWRliwHH84NA-lJ7h7dWiQioQyosTvBvlZ6FxYw7dowZtktuIRoGTvJoJhf1BuEVDKJqD7w8OXL/s1600/DSC_0016(1)_0001.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the back wall I used a diamond template the trace. After the black diamonds were painted on the wall I went back with a fine paint brush and did the white dotted lines by free-hand! It really is a powerful feature wall! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pictures I got off the internet and just adjusted the background colours with a photo program. The picture frames I bought at the dollar store!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the curtain tie backs I removed the balls that were on the ends of the original brackets and made the monster high skulls out of thick foam core! I punched a hole through the sides and used a hot glue gun to attach them to the brackets! They are actually very strong and it's been almost a year since we made these and they are still in excellent condition! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And the final element to my little girls room is her giant monster high doll house! You can find the details on how this doll house was made in one of my older posts! She loves her room and I think that it came together just perfect!</div>

What child doesn't love candy? For that matter, what adult truly doesn't love candy?! So wouldn't a candyland party be the perfect theme for a 4 year old?! I thought so and when I went browsing on pinterest it confirmed my ideas! What fun!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV3mygyNBCrLT2DXeUf_NypN1hhaIqAdUClU2t3NGORG9zdTRZsJsHXu0flRBqk7rWWqcORD1G1AxUNgcMtkER7IMPhoEgkK4IHoq7Afl20YPP-mVsmeFh2hrJsPGW8tdlT25qdI2-CDka/s1600/DSC_0057(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV3mygyNBCrLT2DXeUf_NypN1hhaIqAdUClU2t3NGORG9zdTRZsJsHXu0flRBqk7rWWqcORD1G1AxUNgcMtkER7IMPhoEgkK4IHoq7Afl20YPP-mVsmeFh2hrJsPGW8tdlT25qdI2-CDka/s1600/DSC_0057(1).JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
First coming up with the decorations, then the food, not to mention all the fun games?! I had my work cut out for me with this party that for sure! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My Happy Birthday sign was inspired from something I found on google - I just used card stock to make my creations, but you could also use scrapbooking paper to get your patterns!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj39xXM7EvlkDsIA0NMnsuMlMO0oHT9VjltQYa9NdjJxPfui_4xyOcaxhk2xHFPEI_pWQkofb8CxIAimcX9054XUAnDFx7BymhRRj3-h-h5a75v7yU7ZAcXgaSvhz5xQS6PoSe9fRNcwA7/s1600/DSC_0012(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhj39xXM7EvlkDsIA0NMnsuMlMO0oHT9VjltQYa9NdjJxPfui_4xyOcaxhk2xHFPEI_pWQkofb8CxIAimcX9054XUAnDFx7BymhRRj3-h-h5a75v7yU7ZAcXgaSvhz5xQS6PoSe9fRNcwA7/s1600/DSC_0012(1).JPG" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
For the goody bags I went with piñatas! Filled of course with all kinds of candy!<br />
Cake pops, chocolate suckers, cookies, smartie filled chocolate cupcakes and a tooth brush to make the parents happy ;) lol!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDNJ_JnQrgcCw1rETqoPm5fot3TZbWHOBKwotcOu1gXYCgf-x0pj-04NeXYM6d5NrPvqgZfIe4_KZ4C5qDePrK1q0mX00kThqt0FQKUkG_ffL10UYCyI_eKaLBvd_I-yCxwUtK1abwwN9Z/s1600/DSC_0040(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDNJ_JnQrgcCw1rETqoPm5fot3TZbWHOBKwotcOu1gXYCgf-x0pj-04NeXYM6d5NrPvqgZfIe4_KZ4C5qDePrK1q0mX00kThqt0FQKUkG_ffL10UYCyI_eKaLBvd_I-yCxwUtK1abwwN9Z/s1600/DSC_0040(1).JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I found these cute gumball machine's on pinterest too!! Simple flower pots from the $1 store, and glass bowls also from the $1 store! I chose not to glue the tops of the gumball machine's to the glass bowls because I wanted to fill them with jube-jubes! I had the kids take a guess how many was in each machine! Funny thing - most kids guessed 20-35?!?! LOL!! Kids are hilarious!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq2BqkJ2esx3oHcA3HbV09GXqHk8_jpH7pLTNpDNRUOIYEm3VFM0bAbYl77VEsGNu5eP6JnGf44vXgqi4DRMWyX0uleXZhvYjz3RZ2TErwlu1DVrooqpZtqBMbXRARc5xiajEIEeVtbro_/s1600/DSC_0038%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiq2BqkJ2esx3oHcA3HbV09GXqHk8_jpH7pLTNpDNRUOIYEm3VFM0bAbYl77VEsGNu5eP6JnGf44vXgqi4DRMWyX0uleXZhvYjz3RZ2TErwlu1DVrooqpZtqBMbXRARc5xiajEIEeVtbro_/s1600/DSC_0038%25281%2529.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
Another game that we played was the candy ball game! I went to the dollar store and collected a bunch of little trinkets as well as lots of candy - and wrapped it all up in a roll of tape! The kids had to roll dice until they got two of the same number (my kids are younger so I actually used dice from my daughters yahtzee game so the kids just had to get two princesses the same! Made it all run a lot smoother!) The tape ball game was a huge success - the tape tends to break off a lot so be sure to have a pair of scissors handy and the game will keep going!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSALiyPK7wcX7oF-qoMuXtql6494icW2CvL3wJIjb0HVk6RNg3F2iEnTpIjTXdMUSFQXV8IDQnrw9VZxStqzmTALaecsrMGFOrKc7x9cMYlwybaLk6Rrc7M55uCSEh7pKz3SktldaY7jrz/s1600/DSC_0036%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSALiyPK7wcX7oF-qoMuXtql6494icW2CvL3wJIjb0HVk6RNg3F2iEnTpIjTXdMUSFQXV8IDQnrw9VZxStqzmTALaecsrMGFOrKc7x9cMYlwybaLk6Rrc7M55uCSEh7pKz3SktldaY7jrz/s1600/DSC_0036%25281%2529.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We also played pin the gum ball on the gumball machine! I think this was one of the kids most favourite games out of everything! They had a blast playing this! And it was so easy to make! Just a couple sheets of Bristol board taped together! Super easy and so much fun!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpHP41AMTUm6g9d20iX2ZCKt9HKFmzeXQSLP-JVFys-ziRE5lGKz5QRqsHPm5EcH0jDnoxV5OduiNNrKIBa3P3HrKKwVtTnFyAj78Lpou8ZCFDoR96JSZcSord8JVGvRIuiBmEC1mD23eM/s1600/DSC_0052%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpHP41AMTUm6g9d20iX2ZCKt9HKFmzeXQSLP-JVFys-ziRE5lGKz5QRqsHPm5EcH0jDnoxV5OduiNNrKIBa3P3HrKKwVtTnFyAj78Lpou8ZCFDoR96JSZcSord8JVGvRIuiBmEC1mD23eM/s1600/DSC_0052%25281%2529.JPG" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And then there were the party decorations!! I spent so much time throwing all these elements together and I am so happy with how they came together! There was just a great wow factor to this party!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Let the candyland game begin!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwCoc-QNrp5KOzI92N7G1XfQkeTPF9k2ZMumat4C6XDW-vQNoWZr4jVJON0V970CisSMBsxjc9WLakhKwsirBqyOzuG6N_HiuKMBgRVJrXDj_onQTbr1B2IW0C5xNB6mx-LaGDjM7YhfuR/s1600/DSC_0042%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwCoc-QNrp5KOzI92N7G1XfQkeTPF9k2ZMumat4C6XDW-vQNoWZr4jVJON0V970CisSMBsxjc9WLakhKwsirBqyOzuG6N_HiuKMBgRVJrXDj_onQTbr1B2IW0C5xNB6mx-LaGDjM7YhfuR/s1600/DSC_0042%25281%2529.JPG" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cupcake commons was the first stop in this adventure land! The cupcakes were made out of foam core from the dollar store. I glued Bristol board onto the cupcakes for some colour and an extra piece of foam core on the backs to support them so that they could stand up along the pathway!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir0IUDnNY-GJdYYjjrM9SRBX_7AEarac0IIjxxRKYHx1mo4ynx8FWQ0az58vGy9NbR9DaT8S6l5QM9BTkYSaYABPaUJN3sNc3pteq4BJcOC3oDuMV0YwRGc0PgxW8prdp9-kjcg_WkAvRB/s1600/DSC_0043%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir0IUDnNY-GJdYYjjrM9SRBX_7AEarac0IIjxxRKYHx1mo4ynx8FWQ0az58vGy9NbR9DaT8S6l5QM9BTkYSaYABPaUJN3sNc3pteq4BJcOC3oDuMV0YwRGc0PgxW8prdp9-kjcg_WkAvRB/s1600/DSC_0043%25281%2529.JPG" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
I also wrapped balloons with cello wrap so that they would look like candies! These were randomly placed throughout the party! The kids enjoyed playing with them!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjciDZCzTXBraPmQkrW1aq7F9-frKXCjx1Y-dtfZIhyphenhyphenb0zCLDp16U60C1z-rs-av0OzKQatV6ppg3CcF1ytb7F7NNOooQGrJDluPnNAVf5XR-DUImnu1h7NMRcTKfnVyDnwyHVC3l7v1VaI/s1600/DSC_0044%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjciDZCzTXBraPmQkrW1aq7F9-frKXCjx1Y-dtfZIhyphenhyphenb0zCLDp16U60C1z-rs-av0OzKQatV6ppg3CcF1ytb7F7NNOooQGrJDluPnNAVf5XR-DUImnu1h7NMRcTKfnVyDnwyHVC3l7v1VaI/s1600/DSC_0044%25281%2529.JPG" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
These lollipops were so cute, I just loved them! Balloons wrapped in cello (I bought a lot of cello at micheals they have a large roll and with a coupon it is only $7!) I tied an elastic around the base of the balloons so that they would fit over the Bristol board "sticks"..... the sticks were just made from Bristol board rolled and glued together with a hot glue gun! The tricky part is getting them to stand up inside. I filled little baggies of sand and dropped them inside the tubes (Don't forget to make a bottom for your tubes so the sand bags don't fall out of the tubes!) I also found I had to use the glue gun to attach the balloons to the sticks as they kept slipping off :(<br />
<br />
Now yes these lollipops are super cute but add some little boys to the party and all of a sudden you have swords?! lol!! All fun and games until bags of sand start breaking ALL OVER the house!! <br />

For the end of the game we had this fun punch game! This candy castle was created out of foam core! The holes were cut out and then tissue paper was attached to the backs. Then I took string and hung goody bags of candies behind a few of the circles! The kids kept hitting until they won! The only problem is that the foam core was not strong enough, so someone had to stand behind the castle and add some extra support each time the kiddies knocked the tissue out!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And the cake! So many little elements to make this game board yummy! Lots of Styrofoam balls covered in icin and candies! Gum drops, sour jubes and lots of cupcakes! </div>

The cupcakes were so much fun! The kids loved them!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I filled them with jelly beans (next time I would go with something different because the jelly beans were a little warm inside the cupcakes (not to the taste but the colours were sweating into the cupcakes a little bit - so maybe jelly tots or something?)</div>

My daughter is in love with monster high right now. I think it's mostly because the older girls like monster high, but whatever the case may be, she does enjoy playing with these dolls! So of course when I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween this year, her answer was "Frankie!" - a monster high character for those of you who don't already know ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now I don't know about you, but I personally do not like those wigs that you can buy at the costume shops. They are full of static and after you wear them once they are practically destroyed! So I asked a friend of mine who is also very crafty, if she had any ideas! She sent me the following link: <a href="http://blog.booturtle.com/2011/11/jasmine-yarn-wig.html">http://blog.booturtle.com/2011/11/jasmine-yarn-wig.html</a> - I was amazed at how real this wig looked! So I set out to make one for my daughters costume! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxFLLW6NYhPXaMmIw12J6_L6FC8Hv7OdI-zymaqohLTUUZjh45LiNbAIP5VTO7PXfLrxHMhsalMJjvXMz8RbCxC_YJgzYKCRZO0T809LsC5fu7PToW_jOJdBpgJvZRLHT1o01w7mGI7N8M/s1600/DSC_0001%25281%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxFLLW6NYhPXaMmIw12J6_L6FC8Hv7OdI-zymaqohLTUUZjh45LiNbAIP5VTO7PXfLrxHMhsalMJjvXMz8RbCxC_YJgzYKCRZO0T809LsC5fu7PToW_jOJdBpgJvZRLHT1o01w7mGI7N8M/s1600/DSC_0001%25281%2529.JPG" height="400" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
She was so happy with how the wig that she requested that I make a bunch of them for her fashion show that she will be having at her birthday party (in April!!!!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I did a little step by step on how I made this wig - but for a full instructional step by step please visit the above link! I found it very helpful!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First step was to take a pair of tights and use them for the wig foundation! True you can go and buy a brand new pair of tights from Walmart for about $5-$6 - but since my daughter only wears dresses (yes that is correct, only dresses - it's actually a good thing sometimes.... if she is acting up, I can say things like "Hey if you don't do..... I will take all your dresses away and you will have to wear pants today!!!" The reaction that gets is priceless!!!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So anyways, she has an entire drawer full of old tights, or tights that I feel are too scuzzy to wear to school or in public, so she is only allowed to wear them in the backyard to play! And as it so happens, these tights are perfect for mommy to use in the creation of these monster high wigs! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I took the tights and put them on her head first. Then I tied a knot in the les right at the crown of her head. Next I sewed the tights just above the knot. Once that was done, I cut the legs off. (don't throw those away though - they will come in handy in a little bit!!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0h43e6LIbrSzyrm0Ejr_UJESI3sw9gsu_X_9VB7Ay1QfwIWWMbtfvfyTuRSW_sbLfz6IIzRaGxcSXvHn9rDuYLPK_1XeeqszQU1rPzbM_cY63xqfNUrMX4Cd6dBOD3ZueJ52O8YkhZCyY/s1600/DSC_0033(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0h43e6LIbrSzyrm0Ejr_UJESI3sw9gsu_X_9VB7Ay1QfwIWWMbtfvfyTuRSW_sbLfz6IIzRaGxcSXvHn9rDuYLPK_1XeeqszQU1rPzbM_cY63xqfNUrMX4Cd6dBOD3ZueJ52O8YkhZCyY/s1600/DSC_0033(1).JPG" height="320" width="213" /></a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Next I tried to figure out how long to make the wig.... once I made a guess as to how long it needed to be, I set out to find something in the house that I could use to wrap the yarn around that was the same length that I was looking for! Ding, ding, ding - the winner was my kids lego table! I started at one side and wrapped the yarn over and under and over and under until I was happy with how much yarn I had. Now the yarn I was using was actually free from a friend of mine, but for colours for the upcoming wigs (I will post those pictures once I make them) that I did not currently have, I actually went to the Dollar tree and found a number of colours there!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Take those strands and make a number of piles, each with approximately 10-12 strands of yarn in each pile.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now it's time to sew! At first I followed the way that I read about from the Jasmine wig and used the sewing machine to sew the strands directly onto the tights.... I found that it was too difficult for me and finished the wig (especially with the alternating colours) by hand. I took my strands, folded them in half and ran them through the sewing machine. Then while I was watching tv, I sewed them into place by hand! Tried it on my daughter a few times to get the right fall of the "hair" and it worked out just great for me!</div>

The shoes were a great find from value village and I just used duct tape to make the white stripes! There is another way to make these shoes though if you are not looking to ruin your daughters black heels - <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ESWxLV9Mw">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-ESWxLV9Mw</a> - you will also find some great makeup tutorials from this little girl! My daughter loves to watch Emma transform herself into the monsters! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This year for Christmas my daughter asked for a Monster high doll house..... now she was asking me for the monster high doll houses that you can purchase in the stores like this one</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrp6CW6w8Js5yxAaREX3tVjXP7zqQlwwutNaekFZjWsMTdAbi5OCablyNMufS1-mjCFoi7csw_plkAdhl-f3xM-imUIoFKBckIYrpHqExDkjjAfg5NUIV99pjl2pA3QRd71B4rrQX9okbY/s1600/untitled.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrp6CW6w8Js5yxAaREX3tVjXP7zqQlwwutNaekFZjWsMTdAbi5OCablyNMufS1-mjCFoi7csw_plkAdhl-f3xM-imUIoFKBckIYrpHqExDkjjAfg5NUIV99pjl2pA3QRd71B4rrQX9okbY/s1600/untitled.png" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Did you know they want $100 for this little piece of plastic?! It got me to thinking - what other options are out there? A lot of people take Barbie houses and paint them and they look great! I was all set to o that route when I came across this amazing blog page: <a href="http://lolasminihomes.blogspot.ca/">http://lolasminihomes.blogspot.ca/</a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This woman makes the most amazing doll houses out of cardboard boxes!!! AND she makes full instructional videos on how she makes everything! It's a great blog and I highly recommend that you take a look! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have taken a few photo's of my doll house to show the process as well as the final product - but for anyone thinking about taking on this HUGE project please visit the above blog site, it is SO worth it! I was able to get all of my cardboard boxes from a department store - the only things I paid for were the glue, paints and accessories! It didn't cost a lot of money to make - but it was a HUGE undertaking and I literally spent months working on this project!</div>

After working on this doll house for so many months, I was tired, and Christmas was fast approaching - something had to give and it was this room :( I made sure to paint it up real nice because I knew there was no way I would have time to make furniture for it! It actually worked out ok though - my daughter got draculaura's car for Christmas and she has taken to parking it in this room!! LOL!! So I guess it is a fancy garage? Hahahahaha!</div>

Monster High Party!</h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My little sister's birthday was all about Monster High! She had no idea what her mom and I had planned for the party - we did everything while she was in school and because I did a lot of the work, she never saw anything until the day of her party!! It was fun trying to create this party all in secret! Even my daughter didn't realize that it was for Mia's birthday party! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
First we started with the invitations! Mia loves Draculaura so we decided to go with that! I have a great program that I bought for my digital scrapbooking - it's from Creative Memories and has made such a difference in all of my photo's and how I can edit them! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After the images were all printed and the skulls were cut out, I took the ribbon and taped it in the center of the card, wrapped it around the whole card and had it trail out the bottom of the invitation. After that I glued the card on top of the ribbon making sure to leave the bottom of the card free of glue so that the skull portion would still pull down! Once everything was done I tucked the skull up inside the card and the invitations were all finished!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the goody bags we thought it would be cute to give all of the little girls their very own purses! So after doing a quick google search, I found a pattern for cutting out your own paper purses! I drew up my own pattern and then was able to put together these great purses! Everything is made from Bristol board except for the skulls - those were made with foam, and I stuck Velcro dots on the backs so that the girls could close their purses!</div>

The boys couldn't very well be going home with pink purses but we wanted to keep with the same theme, so we went with the Monster High skull, changed the position of the bow as well as the colour! Huge hit with the boys! These bags were made out of the same foam as the Super Mario goody bags that I made for my daughters party!</div>

This party was a pool party but we still wanted to have some fun activities for the kids to do in between swimming! So I thought it would be a lot of fun for the kids if they could pretend to be the Monster High characters! I used foam core and painted the images of four of the characters onto the boards. In all honesty I was not impressed with how they turned out - don't get me wrong, I love how they looked and the kids had a blast playing with them, but I found that the paint caused the paper on the foam core to peel away from the boards! It was frustrating, but at least I have ideas for the next time now! I plan on trying something a little different next time I make these for a party!</div>

The girls had a sleepover at my house the night before the party - so I got them both ready to go! The night before I dyed their hair (you really can't see it in the brown hair unless you catch her under certain light :( - but the blonde turned out great!) How did I dye their hair!? Well that would be with bingo dabbers from the $1 store!! All you do is put on some gloves, then take a section of hair, place a paper towel in between the hair and your glove and dab/grad that bingo dabber through the hair! Colour looks great in the blonde hair - and it washes out within a day or so! The colour comes out very easily and even washes out of pillow cases (my daughter had a fever one night while she had the dye in her hair and sweat all over her pillow case - stuck it in the washer the next day and it came out clean! I was so happy!!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The girls had lots of makeup on too for the party and I was even able to paint little fangs on their lips!! lol!! Ohhhhh, so scary right! </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now for the cake!! We thought we would go with something a little different this year - so we bought push pops from Micheals (don't forget your coupons!) - these little treats are a lot of fun and the kids love them! Perfect portion sizes for the little munchkins! And they are re-useable - just make sure everyone knows not to throw them out! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The push pops were perfect, I was able to incorporate all of the main characters into the cake with these! And the kids all got to take home their characters! The cake was an 8" cake to feed the grown ups and the rest was Styrofoam! You don't always need a ton of cake to get a big effect! </div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
The Monsters are print outs that have been glued onto foam core and then cut out! I then just added a little hot glue and attached them to their colour coded cake pops! The kids LOVED them and they actually ate all of their cake!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also made cookies for the party! High heel shoes, skulls, Frankie hearts, and Draculaura lips! The kids loved them - one of the little boys came up to me and said "these are the best cookies that I have ever had" - LOVE that little boy! He made my day!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is how we put everything together on the food table! I used a great technique that I found on pinterest for the table cloth! We draped the table with the black table cloth (you can find black at Walmart!) and then took two sided tape to run around the table. The I took the purple table cloth and started to loosely pleat the cloth around sticking it to the tape! It worked perfectly and I am in love with this technique! So much nicer then just a flat table cloth, and so easy to do! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The goody bags were used in the decoration of the table and I also took a couple of table cloths and used them to decorate the window behind the table! The purple ball in the middle of the window is actually from my daughters princess party a few years ago.... it was a little mushed, but once we hung it up and fluffed it up - it didn't look too bad! These balls were made with the help of a you tube video - tissue paper balls - you can also buy them in the stores - but they are so easy to make!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My daughter is all about her video games these days - she is so good at them that when she plays with her dad she tells him where to find secret passages etc!! LOL!! And my husband is a gamer too - so you can imagine how funny I find this :) It's cute though - they have their "thing" and enjoy playing together. When it comes to the birthday party though? That is all mommy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This year she wanted to have a Super Mario birthday bash! So I spent a good amount of time on my favourite site - Pinterest! What a place to go to when you need ideas for ANYTHING!!! I love it! I had so many wonderful ideas from that site and even came up with a few all by myself! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Being the Cake Momma - the cake was pretty important for this event, so I sat down with my daughter to find out what she wanted this year. I have learned from other children that when you surprise them with a cake and "think" that you have included all of the important elements in the cake based on the theme that you were given, sometimes you can really miss something that was important! Kids are so honest! LOL!! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I sat my daughter down and asked her what she wanted her cake to include. She said she wanted to have :Princess Peach, Super Mario, Luigi, Toad, Blue Yoshi, Bowser, The girl Koopa, Goombas, the castle and the "Bee-Bop-Po-Doodles" - that is what she calls those piranha flowers! Is that all? LOL! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I like to think that I nailed it and even brought in some other fun elements that I thought would enhance the overall cake!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There were so many elements to this cake - it was hard to get everything into one picture AND show the detail that went into everything! So I took a few photos of my creation!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This part of the cake was all Styrofoam! What can I say? I like to go big with my cakes, but when you make cakes all the time? You do not want to eat them! LOL!! So I was able to make this portion ahead of time and just add the details when I put the real cake together! I love the candles!</div>

The center of this castle is made from Rice Krispies and the peaks of the towers are ice cream cones, but aside from the fondant characters everything else on this upper piece of the cake is not edible. Overall I am VERY proud of myself and this creation! I put a lot of work into it and it was so worth it! My daughter was in love with her cake and was telling me all week that I am the best mommy in the world! That makes it all worth it!</div>

I actually made Super Why cookies like this for my son's last birthday party - but did I take a photo of them? Nope :( Oh well, I was sure to take MANY photo's at this party so that I could remember all the hard work I put into making this day special for my girl! I got the sugar cookie recipe from <a href="http://www.lilaloa.com/p/recipes.html" target="_blank">http://www.lilaloa.com/p/recipes.html</a> and they were amazing! I had to hide them from myself! Those chocolate cookies? They are pure evil! SO delicious!!! </div>

Who doesn't love a good cake pop? EVERYONE loves cake pops it seems! Unfortunately I won't make them for anyone other then my little ones anymore - they take way too long to make and while they are adorable, I just don't have the patience for them anymore! I figure if I only make them a few times a year for my kids functions, that is more then enough for me! I do enjoy finding fun ways to display them though! In this case I went with foam core from the good old dollar store! Take your hot glue gun and glue the foam core strips to your Styrofoam, paint and it's all done! Cheap to put together and the presentation is perfect!</div>

It is amazing the things you can do with foam core! I printed out these photos of some Super Mario characters I found on line at Costco, glued them to my $1 foam core and used an exacto knife to cut them out! Then take your scrap pieces of foam core and create a support at the back - attach using hot glue! Simple, cheap and easy for your table decorations!</div>

I found this design on google and loved it! It was time consuming to make, but so much fun when it was all done! I just cut out all the pieces of the Mario man (yes I know he has a mullet) and then attached them to the card using small foam sticker squares that I found at the $1 store!</div>

I don't know about you but at my last party I had about 10-15 bottles of water that only had 2-3 sips taken from them! What a waste!! So as a solution I printed out these images on paper and cut them into strips that I taped onto the water bottles! I left out a cup of washable markers (I do not trust the kids with anything else at this age) and everyone wrote their names on the waters! A lot less waste this year!</div>

I did the same thing for the little ones! I remember the last party I went to - two boys fighting and crying because "He is drinking my drink!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!" LOL!!! So I decided to not only put their names on the drinks - but also a different image for each child! This way the children who cannot yet identify their own name could still recognize which drink was theirs! Worked like a charm!</div>

My baby's!! I love making fun goody bags for my kids party's! I made princess tutu bags for my daughters princess party last year, tool box's for my son's birthday party and now I have discovered foam!! You can make anything from foam! LOVE FOAM!!! I will be using this for all of my kids party bags from now on (unless I find something else that is really cool! LOL!) I drew out all the characters that I wanted to make into bags and attached all of the pieces with hot glue! The kids were asking for their goody bags about 10 minutes after they arrived!!! Awesome!</div>

When I was checking out pinterest for Mario party ideas - I came across a photo called "Dress up Mario" I thought to myself, how much fun would that be?! My daughter loves those paper cut outs and dressing them in different clothes! So I busted out the white cardstock and printed these out! Sure it took me forever to cut them out and bag them all (especially since I have to make 20 of these - yes that's right, I had 20 children at this party! Can we say crazy?! Actually it isn't as bad as you would think - a lot of the parents stay as they are friends of ours)</div>

I decided that I should have games this year as the kids are starting the get older! Good old Pinterest to the rescue! The Yoshi egg smash game? Amazing! I even found a video on how one lady made her eggs! So helpful! Bowser I painted on two sheets of Dollar store foam core - and the kids were amazed that I let them throw eggs with the intent to break them! LOL! One mom looked horrified when I started to put a plastic sheet out under the game! "Oh my god, are those raw eggs you are going to let them throw?!" LOL!! Ummmmm, no, not so much ;) This game was a HUGE hit!!!</div>

I was at the library for Halloween last year and this was one of the crafts that they had for the kids! How great! Print out some faces of your characters (isn't google great) - cut them out as well as the eyes, attach two strips cut from Bristol board and let the kids colour them! Then staple the masks together and the kids can pretend to be someone else!</div>
